Indeed’s newest hiring solution, designed to help employers get to the interview, fast. I was on the team tasked with creating a video that would highlight all of IHP’s functionality in a quick and easy way.

The approach

Must haves

  • Cater to both our job seeker and employer audiences.

  • Showcase key product screens without getting too granular.

  • Adhere to Indeed’s new tone and illustration guidelines.

  • Seek approval from leadership from stakeholder teams in a limited timeframe.

Challenges

  • Due to the number of stakeholders we needed to get feedback from, we were working under extremely tight deadlines that were constantly shifting.

  • Since the product was still fairly new at the time, a lot of the language being used was still changing (including the name).

  • We needed to communicate a large amount of product information in a short amount time.

Learnings

  • A scaled-back, benefit-oriented approach to product videos is more appealing to viewers.

  • Being involved in the early stages of product comms development is extremely valuable.

  • Simple, on-screen text is essential to highlighting key features for all viewers.
